Every dog is different, and their haircut should suit their personality, lifestyle, and breed. Whether you’re after a stylish model trim, a practical shave, or something completely custom, I’m happy to work with you to find the perfect look for your pup!

Model Trims

Some breeds, like Poodles and Schnauzers, have classic trims that really bring out their features. If you’d like your dog to have a traditional breed-specific look, I can shape their coat to match.

Shaving

Shaving can be a great option for certain dogs, especially those with thick or easily matted coats. It helps keep them cool in warm weather and makes grooming more manageable.

However, it’s not suitable for all coat types. For example:

• Double-coated breeds (like Pomeranians and Huskies) rely on their coat for insulation. Shaving them can damage the texture, and the hair may not grow back the same.
• Hand-stripped breeds (such as some Terriers and Spaniels) have a specific coat texture that changes when clipped or shaved. Instead, hand-stripping helps maintain their natural wiry coat.

Different Coats, Different Techniques

Each breed has a coat type that needs a specific grooming approach:

• Fluffy double coats (Golden Retrievers, Collies) – Trimming and de-shedding rather than shaving.
• Curly coats (Poodles, Bichons) – Scissoring and shaping for a neat look.
• Wiry coats (Terriers, some Spaniels) – Hand-stripping to keep the correct coat texture.
